William T. Ivey, Jr., 88, of Mechanicsburg, PA, passed away Saturday, January 19, 2019, at the Bridges of Bent Creek.
Born November 18, 1930, in Wolcott, NY, he was the son of the late William T. Sr. and Inez (Staples) Ivey.
Bill was a U.S. Army Veteran, who served during the Korean War. After his military career, he continued to work for the U.S. Navy as a Management Analyst. He served for several years as a volunteer for the Bethesda Mission and the Mechanicsburg Ambulance Association. He was also a member of Christian Life Assemblies.
Bill is survived by his wife of almost 65 years, Phyllis A. (Gust) Ivey, of Mechanicsburg, PA; sons David Ivey and wife Carol, of Enola, Mark Ivey and wife Esther, of Mechanicsburg, Thomas Ivey of Gettysburg, Pa; and daughter Pam Zeiders and husband David, of Camp Hill, PA. In addition to his children, Bill is survived by 11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents Bill is preceded in death by his sister Nancy Petrie.
A funeral service and celebration of Bill's life will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Friday, January 25, 2018 at the Myers-Harner Funeral Home, 1903 Market Street, Camp Hill, PA. A viewing will be held on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Burial with military honors will follow the funeral service at Rolling Green Cemetery, 1811 Carlisle Road, Camp Hill, PA.
