Vivian Harvey, 86, of Mechanicsburg, PA went to be with her Lord on Sunday, February 19, 2017 at Messiah Lifeways.
Vivian was born in Hancock, NY, and was the daughter of the late William W. and Dorothy (Myrick) Price and wife of the late F. Calvin Harvey.
Vivian graduated from Johnson City NY High School. After marrying Calvin, her childhood sweetheart, they raised two daughters, Nancy M. Beers (husband Bryan) of Kalamazoo, MI; and Jodie L. Smiley (husband James) of Mechanicsburg, PA. She was a member of the Johnson City Primitive Methodist Church and later the Grantham Brethren in Christ Church.
Vivian was active in Girl Scouting for many years when living in Vestal, NY. While living in Charlotte, NC and Mechanicsburg, PA she found joy in working with children. Vivian was a life-long collector who loved to travel to different countries. Those travels included Guatemala, Russia, Antarctica, Kenya, and Europe. She was most proud of her collection of nativities from countries around the world.
In addition to her daughters, Vivian is survived by a brother, William W. Price Jr and wife Donna of Titusville, FL; two grandchildren, Lynne A. Smiley of West Chester, PA and Lisa M. Smiley of Nashville, TN., and several nieces and nephews.
A service honoring Vivian's life will be held on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. at Barber's Funeral Home Johnson City, NY, with Pastor Don Kidd officiating. A visitation will be held in the funeral home from 12:00 P.M. until the time of the service. Burial will be held at Vestal Hills Memorial Park following the service. On Friday February 24, a Memorial Service will be held at the Messiah Village Chapel, Mechanicsburg PA, with Pastor Ron Slabaugh officiating.
