Verna E. Earp, 97, formerly of Camp Hill, PA, was welcomed into Godrsquos arms on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at Sarah A. Todd Memorial Home in Carlisle, PA. Born on May 27, 1927, in Bellaire, PA, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Edna (Shireman) Witmer, and she was the widow of William E. Earp, who passed away in 2002. Verna was a devoted wife, mother and friend who was known for her kindness, generous heart and quick wit. She was a graduate of Hershey High School and retired as a Management Assistant with Defense Distribution Mechanicsburg PA (DDMP). She was an avid shopper and loved going out to eat. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Lemoyne, where she was a regular Bible study attendee and an active member in Christian Womenrsquos Club. Verna loved spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren. She looked forward to annual stays at Wildwood NJ and Cleona Campmeeting every summer. Verna is survived by three sons, Edward (Georgia) of Harrisburg, James (Norma) of Mechanicsburg, David (Cindy), of New Cumberland, a granddaughter Jamie of Mechanicsburg, three grandsons, Justin (Kaitie) of San Diego CA, Nathan and Ben of Mechanicsburg, step grandchildren Stacy Loveless, Paul and Chrissy Crum of Chattanooga TN, two great grandchildren Colton and Delaney of San Diego CA and step great grandchildren Tyler and Owen Shoup, also of San Diego CA. In addition to her husband William, she was preceded in death by four brothers, John, Paul, Lester, and Irvin Witmer, two sisters, Ada Bachman and Grace Shenk, and stepdaughter Patricia Crum. Vernarsquos family is extremely grateful for the excellent care provided to their mother by the superb staff at Sarah A. Todd Memorial Home. She could not have been in better hands. Many, many thanks A viewing will be held from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Friday, March 21, 2025, in the Myers-Baker Funeral Home, 1903 Market St., Camp Hill, PA. A celebration of Vernarsquos Life will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Saturday March 22nd, at Grace United Methodist Church, 309 Herman Ave, Lemoyne, PA 17043. All family and friends are invited to attend a reception to be held in the church following the service. The family encourages guests to wear red in Vernarsquos honor. Burial will be prior to the service at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, in Broadview Cemetery beside Balsbaughrsquos UC Church on Rt 322 in Hershey for anyone who would like to join the family. Memorial contributions may be made to Grace United Methodist Church
