Obituary

Thomas Whinham, 93, of Mechanicsburg, passed away on Tuesday April 15, 2014 at the Hershey Medical Center.
Born on October 7, 1920 in Paisley, Scotland, he was the son of the late Thomas and Isabella (Gillespi) Whinham and he was the widower of B. Lorraine (Lykes) Whinham.
He was a US Navy Veteran of WWII. He was a retired salesman for Smith-Lee. He was a longtime member of Camp Hill United Methodist Church. Tom loved to spend time woodworking, fishing, golfing, and playing on his bowling team. He also enjoyed sailing and competing in Sailboat racing.
He is survived by his daughter, Peggy Leydig, of Mechanicsburg; three grandchildren, Jeremy Swavely, Bonnie Leydig, and Dan Swavely, all of Mechanicsburg.
In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by his son, Steve Whinham and a brother, Robert Whinham.
All funeral services are private and will be handled at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Parkinson Foundation, 111 Presidential Blvd., Suite 250, Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004.
