Theresa Blockus Shriver, 85, of Camp Hill passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, May 1, 2016.
She was born on May 11, 1930 in Nanticoke, PA and was the daughter of the late Edward and Mary (Stachowiak) Blokus. She was married to her husband Thomas for 62 years before he passed away just six weeks ago on March 17. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Thomas Joseph and Joseph Bradley and her brother, Kazmier.
She was a 1947 graduate of Nanticoke High School. In 1952 she graduated from the Pennsylvania General Hospital School of Nursing in Philadelphia. She and her husband were long-standing members of Good Shepherd Catholic Church. After raising her six children, she went to work for the Visiting Nurse Association of Mechanicsburg and retired in 1992. In their retirement, both she and her husband were also active in the Eagles Mere, PA community where they owned a vacation property.
She is survived by four daughters, Mary Theresa of Mechanicsburg , Beth Anne of Hummelstown, Anne Marie of Mechanicsburg, and Molly Anne (Donald) Busler of Mechanicsburg; two granddaughters, Amanda Busler and Rachel Busler of Mechanicsburg; her sister, Constance B. (Raymond) Horgan of Columbus, Ohio; as well as extended family and nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, May 6, 2016 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 3435 Trindle Road, Camp Hill. There will be no visitation. Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery, Harrisburg later that afternoon.
