Sister Florita Gehret, S.C.C. (Née: Jean Louise), 90, passed away peacefully on Saturday July 11, 2015 at Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill. Born on July 4, 1925 in West Lawn, PA, she was the daughter of the late Luke and Mabel (Davidheiser) Gehret. She was a graduate of Marywood University in Scranton, PA. Sister Gehret was a teacher in several states including New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Florida. She had a great love for animals. She was received in community on August 21, 1946 and then professed her first vows on August 21, 1948. She reached her final profession on August 20, 1954. She was survived by several cousins Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday July 16, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. in the Holy Spirit Hospital Chapel, Camp Hill. A viewing will be held in the Chapel on Wednesday July 15th from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and also on Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the mass. Burial will be held following the mass in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Mechanicsburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Sisters of Christian Charity, 350 Bernardsville Rd., Mendham, NJ 07945 or to the Humane Society of Harrisburg, 7790 Grayson Rd., Harrisburg, PA 17111.
