Obituary

Shirley A. Kerr, 93, of Mechanicsburg, PA, formerly of Wellsville, PA passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at Bethany Village.

She was born September 16, 1932, in Annville, PA, the daughter of the late Stanley and Mabel (Miller) Light. She married Frederick C. Kerr and celebrated 50 years of marriage prior to his death.

Shirley was a graduate of Palmyra High School and graduated from The Lankenau Hospital School of Nursing in Philadelphia. She started her nursing career as a travel nurse in California and worked at various hospitals and nursing homes here in the local area.

She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Camp Hill. Shirley enjoyed baking and was famous for her sticky buns, cheesecakes and pies. She was an avid bridge player and enjoyed reading and watching college and NFL football games.

Shirley is survived by her children, Susan Kerr of Mechanicsburg, PA and her twin children Jennifer Kramer and her husband Steve of York, PA and Jeffrey Kerr and his wife Dana of San Antonio, TX, four grandchildren Daniel, John, Elaine and Ashley and two great grandchildren Hattie and Emmett.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother Lamar Light.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M., on Monday, June 8, 2026, in The Rife Center, at Bethany Village 325 Wesley Drive, Mechanicsburg, PA.17055. A gathering will be held from 10:00 A.M until the memorial service.

Burial will be private in the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA
