Scott William Harvey, 53, of Mechanicsburg, PA passed away peacefully and comfortably surrounded by loving family and friends on April 22, 2016, at Johns Hopkins University Hospital, Baltimore, MD due to complications of cancer. He was born March 8, 1963 in Harrisburg, PA and was the son of Luther J. Harvey, Sr. (deceased) and Doris Witmer Myers.
Scott was a successful, self-made, entrepreneur and owner/operator of Coins Unlimited and Harvey Real Estate. Scott was a huge boxing fan, a black belt in karate, and collector of motorcycles and cars. He enjoyed traveling, socializing with friends and family, and dining out patronizing often at many of his favorite local eateries in the area. Lastly, Scott idolized Elvis Pressley visiting Graceland on several occasions and proud of himself when he could answer any detail of Elvis' life history.
In addition to his parents, Scott was a loving and devoted father to his three daughters, Shanna Elise (Rita Harvey) and, Syanna Elia and Syarra Rose (Sonya Childress) all of Mechanicsburg. Scott is survived by his siblings Luther, Jr of Camp Hill, Charles (Theresa) of Hershey, Robyn Winfrey (Mike) of Middletown, Tammye Kozlowski (Lenny) of Hershey, Tracey of Meyerstown, Michael of Louisiana, and James of Texas. Scott leaves behind several nieces and nephews including his nephew Patrick Alfaro (Angie) of Etters who Scott loved, cared for and treated like the son he never had. He is preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
A tribute to Scott's life will be held at 5:00 P.M. on Thursday, April 28, 2016 at Myers-Harner Funeral Home, 1903 Market Street, Camp Hill, PA 17011. There will be a visitation in the funeral home on Thursday from 3:00 P.M. until the time of the service. Family and friends are all invited for appetizers and cocktails immediately following the tribute at the Elks Club, 108 St John's Church Road, Camp Hill, PA 17011.
