Ruth Elizabeth Brackbill, 97, of Duncannon, PA formerly of Lemoyne, PA passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2019, at Kinkora Pythian Home. Born September 19, 1921, in Hershey, PA she was the daughter of the late John and Gertrude (Smith) Moyer.
Ruth was a 1939 graduate of William Penn High School. She married her husband Charles L. Brackbill, Sr. in 1946 whom she was married to for 47 years until the time of his death.
Ruth worked for many years for Lemoyne Jr. High School where she was Manager of the Cafeteria. She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Lemoyne.
Ruth is survived by her children, Charles L. Brackbill, Jr., of Dillsburg, PA; and Barbara Turban Haffly, of Lemoyne, PA; grandchildren Angela Whalen, Daniel Turban, Elizabeth Brackbill, and Ashley Turban, and great-grandchildren Catherine and Connor Whalen.
In addition to her parents and husband, Ruth was preceded in death by her brother John Moyer, and sisters Virginia Keim, and Daryce Simonetti.
Funeral services will be held at 12:30 P.M. on Friday, May 17, 2019, in the Myers-Harner Funeral Home, 1903 Market St., Camp Hill, with Rev. Jon Uhlinger officiating. A viewing will be held in the funeral home on Friday from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Burial will be held following the service in Rolling Green Cemetery, Camp Hill.
