Ruth V. Birbeck, 93, of Upper Allen Township, formerly of Philadelphia, died peacefully at home on Tuesday September 22, 2015. Surviving are her stepson Jonathan R. Birbeck his wife Kasey L. Birbeck and their daughter Josephine J. Birbeck. Her husband John G. W. Birbeck passed away April 15, 2007. Private services will be held at Rolling Green Cemetery in Lower Allen Township at the family's discretion. Ruth was a graduate of Simon Gratz High School in 1942. Ruth served as a nurse's aide during World War II. Ruth enjoyed spending time and reading to Josephine, travelling to the seashore, and needlecraft. An avid animal lover Ruth cared lovingly for her dogs over the years. Ruth also enjoyed attending church services and reading mystery stories.
