Obituary

Pete A. Paturzo, Sr. 93 of Mechanicsburg, died Wednesday March 4, 2015 at home surrounded by his family. Born April 19, 1921 in Arlington, Va. To Armando and Rosa Paturzo. He was predeceased by three sisters and two brothers.
Pete is survived by his wife of 68 years ; Christine Deihl Paturzo ; a son Pete A. Paturzo,Jr. and wife Yvonne ; a daughter Valerie J. Coldren and husband Terence ; two grandsons Jonathan M. and Joshua A. Coldren ; a great grandson Nicholas Armando Coldren ; and two granddogs; " Umbria " and " Martina "
He was a US Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War where he was stationed in Trinidad. He was assigned to the construction Battalion Sea Bees. He began civil service in April 1941 as a machinist apprentice at the torpedo station in Alexandria, Va. Pete and his family moved to Mechanicsburg in the mid 50's for him to work at the Ships Parts Control Center. In his Position as a Supplies System Analyst he had the opportunity to travel around the world before retiring in 1977. Pete was an avid golfer and enjoyed boating and fishing on the Chesapeake Bay. He loved to cook and grew his own vegetables for many years. Also, he never went anywhere without his camera just in case a news story happened.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday March 10, 2015 at 12:00 noon from St Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. Burial will be Rolling Green Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until noon at the church.
