Michael Straus, II, of Camp Hill, PA passed away on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at his residence.

Born August 11, 1930, in Chicago, IL, he was the son of the late Michael and Nancy (Porter) Straus. He is married to Marilyn M. (Mentzer) Straus.

He was raised in Washington, D.C., where his father was Commissioner of Reclamation under the Roosevelt administration. He attended Woodrow Wilson High School, and graduated from The Cambridge School in Weston, Massachusetts. He also graduated from Syracuse University and the University of Maryland. He served in the Army during the Korean war.

He was the owner of V & S Contractors in Mechanicsburg, PA, for over 40 years. Michael was a member of Harvest Church, and was a past member of the Pa. Society of Professional Engineers as well as Mechanical Engineers Assoc. He is a member of the Foreign Policy Association of Harrisburg. He loved to play tennis, jog, read, and played piano and accordion.

He is survived by his loving wife of over 50 years, Marilyn Straus, his sister-in-law Marjorie Staz, of Camp Hill, nephews Robert Staz, of Camp Hill, Thomas Staz, of Miami FL, Douglas Staz and his wife Alicia, of Dallas, TX, his great-nephew Joshua Staz, of Dallas, TX, sister-in-law Carol Staz of Camp Hill, a cousin, Nancy Lyon of Columbia, MD, as well as many other cousins and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Straus, and a brother, James Straus.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. in the Myers-Baker Funeral Home, 1903 Market St, Camp Hill, PA, with Rev. Fred Tiday officiating. A viewing will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be held immediately following the service in the Paxtang Cemetery, Harrisburg.
