Michael P. Read, 75, of Mechanicsburg, passed away on Friday July 10, 2015 at his home. Born on April 6, 1940 in Watford, England, he was the son of the late Fred and Dorothy Olive (Norwood) Read. He was a graduate of Cumberland Valley High School and was a retired truck driver for Roadway. Michael was an avid golfer and bowler. He was a mason with the Masonic Lodge # 0629, Harrisburg, and was an active member of the Teamsters Union. He is survived by his wife Mary Ellen (Manhollan) Read, of Mechanicsburg, two sons, Michael P. Read, II, of Boiling Springs, and Scot Read, of Long Island, NY, a daughter, Lori Boston, of Arizona, a sister, Anne Wyatt, of Ohio, three step daughters, Lynn Erford, Samantha Pratt, and Nicolette Hess, eleven grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and a niece. He was preceded in death by four sisters and one brother. A viewing will be held on Thursday July 16, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Peace located on the Grounds of Rolling Green Cemetery, 1811 Carlisle Rd., Camp Hill, PA, with a service to be held immediately following.
