Obituary

Michael Butler, age 100, of Camp Hill, PA, passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2026, while receiving hospice care at an assisted living facility. He was born July 16, 1926, in Girardville, PA, and was raised in the Kensington section of Philadelphia by his parents, Dennis and Ann, along with his brother and sister, William and Estelle.

He enlisted in the U.S. Navy at age 17 and spent two years aboard a destroyer in the South Pacific during World War II. He was honorably discharged as a Second-Class Petty Officer. He worked most of his life in electronics and retired from Amplifier Research in Souderton, PA, after 14 years as Engineering Manager.He was an avid tennis player and bowler and made many friends through both sports. He also competed in four National tennis playoffs, the last two in Surprise, Arizona. He stayed active with bowling up until his 90s.

Michael is survived by his son, Thomas Butler; two granddaughters, Danielle (Butler) Donovan and her husband, Brian, and Denise (Butler) Cartin and her husband, Tom; nine great-grandchildren, Braylon, Dylan and Bryce Donovan, and Brendan, Gracie, June, Vallen, Mina and Trey Cartin; his four stepdaughters, Linda Cassell, Karen Fornwald (David), Cathy Daugherty (Kim) and Polly Cohick (John); and his former daughter-in-law, Lauren Fitzpatrick, and her husband, Don Fitzpatrick.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Audrey, who passed away at age 91; his son, Michael D., who passed away at age 68; his sister, Estelle Cameron, who passed away at age 84; and his brother, William, who died at age 42.

Michael will be remembered for his love of family, his service to his country, his passion for tennis and bowling, and the many friendships he made throughout his long and active life.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, October 16, 2026, in the Myers-Baker Funeral Home, 1903 Market St., Camp Hill, PA, with Pastor Sarah Keilholtz officiating. Interment will be private and handled at the convenience of the family.
