Obituary

In Loving Memory of Marion Trullinger Russell

Marion Trullinger Russell, a beloved matriarch, and a pillar of strength, peacefully

departed this world on August 21, 2023, at the age of 97.

Born on July 9, 1926, Marion grew up in Penbrook, Pennsylvania. Marion's

journey through life was marked by a ceaseless commitment to her family,

community, and faith. She was a graduate of John Harris High School and

continued her education at Dickinson College, where she was a member of the

Zeta Tau Alpha sorority.

Residing in the idyllic towns of Camp Hill, PA, and Wormleysburg, PA, Marion

was an active member of the Presbyterian Church, where her faith was a guiding

light throughout her life. Her dedication extended to her community, where she

served on the Wormleysburg Planning Commission, and the Harrisburg Civic

Club.

Marion's heart was also woven into the fabric of Bethany Village, where she

served with distinction on the Board of Directors and Board of Governors. Her

tireless efforts helped shape the future of the community she cherished. She

believed in what she promoted there, so much so that she chose Bethany Village

as her place to live out the final chapters of her life.

Marion had a subdued tenacity about her. She had the heart of an optimist and

the eye of an artist. Her artistic spirit found expression through her talent for oil

painting, and her works remain cherished treasures for her family.

Marion loved socializing and playing bridge. She loved dogs, and had a real soft

spot for German Shepards in particular.

Marion's heart belonged to the beach, a place where she found solace and

serenity. The rhythmic waves, endless sands, and boundless horizons spoke to

her soul, reminding her of the beauty and vastness of life itself. This love was

artfully depicted in many of her best oil paintings.

Marion's legacy lives on in the lives of her beloved family. She deeply loved, and

will be forever remembered by her children, Gregory Russell, Douglas Russell,

and Susan Russell. Marion's legacy continues through her seven grandchildren

and seventeen great-grandchildren, who will forever carry the torch of her love,

wisdom, and kindness.

Marion was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 49 years, Charles

Clifton Russell, who departed in 1996. She also joined in eternal rest with her

sister, Helen Trullinger Mellott, and her brothers, Park Trullinger and Robert

Trullinger.

As we bid farewell to Marion Trullinger Russell, we remember the remarkable life

she lived—a life filled with love, faith, service, and adventure. Marion's legacy

lives on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her. She leaves

an indelible mark on her family, her community, and all who were fortunate

enough to be touched by her kindness and grace.

Marion, you will be forever missed and forever loved. May you rest in eternal

peace, knowing that your legacy of love will continue to shine brightly in our

hearts.
