Marie G. Smith, 90, of Harrisburg, passed away on Sunday September 24, 2017 at Harrisburg Hospital. Born on June 12, 1927 in Blaine, PA, she was the daughter of the late Neff F. and Clara E. (Ricedorf) Stokes and she was the widow of George R. Smith. Marie was a caring and dedicated homemaker, and had also worked for Mary Sachs, Lerner Shops, & W.I. Grant as a salesperson. She was a member of the Holiday Ramblers and the Church of God in Goldsboro. Along with her late husband, George, she enjoyed camping and traveling for many years. She also enjoyed watching game shows, crocheting, watching Hummingbirds and was a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary at the New Cumberland Fire Co. She is survived by one daughter, Georgian Barr, of Newville; two sons, George W. Smith, of New Cumberland, and Ronald N. Smith, Sr. and his wife Debra, of New Cumberland; one sister, Marjorie R. Himes, of Camp Hill; four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday September 28, 2017 in the Myers-Harner Funeral Home, 1903 Market St., Camp Hill. A viewing will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday September 27th from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and also on Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Burial will be held following the service in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Harrisburg. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in her honor at Homeland Hospice.
