Marian E. Carter, 84, of New Cumberland, PA, passed away on Tuesday October 28, 2014 at the Masonic Village, Elizabethtown.
Born on January 24, 1930 at home in Wormleysburg, PA, she was the daughter of George M. and Olive (Fry) Davis, and she was the widow of Donald L. Carter, Sr. She was the last of five brothers and sisters, George Davis, Donald Davis, Nancy Jamison, and Mary McCormick. She was co-owner of Carter's Silver Spring Flea Market, House of Ice Cream, and Carter's Concessions. Marian Loved gardening, working the concessions at Carlisle Fairgrounds, warm beach days in Ocean City Maryland, and wonderful fall days in Blain, PA.
Marian is survived by her children Diane Freedman (Tom), of Lemoyne, Donald I Carter, Jr. (Rebecca), of Lemoyne, and Gregory Carter, of Etters. Eight grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and a sister In-law, Connie Grenoble.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday November 4, 2014 in Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2000 Chestnut St., Camp Hill, with Pastor Jack Horner and Rev. Peter Ogilvie officiating. A visitation with the family will be held on Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Burial will be held in Rolling Green Cemetery, Camp Hill.
