Obituary

Mae Grace Graybill, 93, of Camp Hill, passed away on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at Messiah Lifeways, Mechanicsburg. Born on August 27, 1922 in Juniata Co., PA, she was the daughter of the late Nelson and Pearl (Landis) Eckley. She was the widow of Harvey R. Graybill, to whom she was married for 58 years. Mae retired after 35 years with the PA Dept. of Revenue where she was a Tax Examiner for the Board of Appeals. She was an Avon Representative for 20 years and a member of the Community United Methodist Church, New Cumberland. Mae was a "Real" Rosie the Riveter from WWII. As an 18-year old, fresh out of high school in Pennsylvania, Mae moved to Baltimore in 1942 to become a metal riveter for the Glenn L. Martin Aircraft Company. She helped build B-26 Marauders. She and her female construction partners assembled the portion of the fuselage immediately in front of the tail section. She is survived by a son Gary R. Graybill and his wife Karen, of Carlisle; three granddaughters, Ashley Waters (Thad), of Camp Hill, Michelle Graybill, of Lancaster, and Elizabeth Graybill, of Camp Hill; and a sister, Catherine Bentley, of Florida. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by a son, Mark K. Graybill, a daughter, Linda (Graybill) Trexler, and a grandson, Nathan C. Graybill Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, June 10, 2016 in the Myers-Harner Funeral Home, 1903 Market St., Camp Hill, with the Rev. Marcie Nicholas officiating. A viewing will be held in the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Burial will follow in the Locust Run Cemetery, Thompsontown. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Nate Graybill/Paul Corby Memorial Scholarship Fund, South Middleton School District, 4 Forge Rd., Boiling Springs, PA 17007
