Lucy Eileen Harper, 74, of York, PA, passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at WellSpan Hospital, York, PA.
Born on March 2, 1950, in Carlisle, PA, she was the daughter of Shirley (McCurdy) Vogelsong and the late Frederick G. Vogelsong.
Lucy graduated from Cumberland Valley High School in 1968. She was a retired Certified Nursing Assistant. Lucy belonged to St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mechanicsburg, where she was a former Sunday school teacher. She was a member of the Rainbow Girls. She enjoyed sewing, crafting, being outdoors on her swing with the hummingbirds, and tending to her beautiful flowers. She made the best pickles and cajun food. More than anything, Lucy loved spending time with her grandchildren and family at their family get-togethers.
She is survived by her mother, Shirley Vogelsong, of Mechanicsburg, PA, a son, William Ege and his wife Jennifer, three daughters, Heather Bridwell and her husband Erik, Holly Newpower and her husband Scott, and Crystal Ege, and five grandchildren, Mason and Chayton Bridwell, Liam Ege, and Morgan and Hudson Newpower.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Derwood L. "Duke" Ege, her second husband, Burtis Harper, a brother, Frederick Vogelsong, Jr., and a sister, Wanda Bateman.
All family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 23, 2024, in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, 1921 Ritner Hwy, Carlisle, PA, with Pastor Marleen Griffith-Stull officiating. Myers-Baker Funeral & Cremation Services, Camp Hill, has been entrusted with funeral arrangements.
