Loma Rein Slike, 94, passed away peacefully on July 1st, 2024, at Penn State Health Holy Spirit Medical Center, Camp Hill, PA with her beloved husband of nearly 70 years by her side. She was born on May 6th, 1930, to the late Reverend Edward R. Rein and Loma S. Rein of North East, Pa.

Loma was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by her devoted husband, John E. Slike, whom she wed on December 27th, 1954. Together they had 3 daughters, Susan Wise (husband David) of Landisville, PA, Jennifer Pritsch (husband John) of Mechanicsburg, PA, Joanne Slike (husband Ron Powers) of Nashville, TN. She also had a son, John, who died at birth. Loma was the revered grandmother of Jessica Barcaro (husband Matt), Jonathan Wise, Kathryn Wilson (husband Shawn), Eden Powers, Zane Powers, and the great-grandmother of Grant Barcaro and recently born Julia Barcaro.

Loma was born in Philadelphia and raised in Wallingford and North East, PA. She attended Dickinson College where she met her husband. After receiving her degree in Social Work, Loma worked for Hamot Hospital and the Commonwealth of PA. Soon after marriage Loma joined her husband on Okinawa while he was serving with the U.S. Army. That experience led to a love of travel. Throughout their marriage, she and John traveled extensively throughout the world, visiting Europe, South America, Asia and New Zealand along with enjoying many cruises.

Loma dedicated her life to raising her 3 daughters and being active with numerous social and charitable organizations including the Camp Hill Woman's Club, Harrisburg Area Food Bank, Literacy Council, and Hospice of Central Pa. Loma is remembered for her beautiful smile, generous personality, kind nature, and enduring friendships.

Funeral services will be on July 13th, 2024, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2000 Chestnut St, Camp Hill. Visitation will be held at 10:00am followed by a service at 11:00am.

Loma was a faithful servant of God and a longtime active member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
