Lewis S. Dougherty, Jr. 94, of Camp Hill, passed away on Sunday, April 13, 2025, at Vibra Life, Mechanicsburg, PA. Born on September 2, 1930, in Harrisburg, PA, he was the son of the late Lewis S. and Anna Mildred (Place) Dougherty. Lewis was a graduate of William Penn high school in 1948, he went on to receive his bachelorrsquos degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1952. Lewis was a veteran of the US Army. He was a retired school teacher with the Camp Hill High School. Also, he was a retired basketball coach. He was a member of the Pine Street Presbyterian Church, VFW, The American Legion, and various Mason organizations. He loved New York and Broadway and was an avid jeopardy fan. He loved reading and doing crossword puzzles. Had a value of honesty and strong faith. He is survived by a daughter, Davona Mitchell of Biloxi, MS two step-daughters, Diane Deibler and her husband Albie, of Nokomis, FL Linda L. Lenkevich and her husband Steve, of Harrisburg, PA two grandchildren and seven step-grandchildren, eleven step-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris J. (Orris) Dougherty. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, April 17, 2025 in Rolling Green Cemetery, 1811 Carlisle Rd., Camp Hill, PA, with Pastor John H. Brock officiating. Burial will be held with military honors by the Cumberland County Honor Guard. Myers-Baker Funeral Cremation Services, Camp Hill, has been entrusted with funeral arrangements.
