Lester W. Ginanni, Jr., 65, of New Cumberland, passed away on Saturday December 30, 2017 at the West Shore Hospital, Mechanicsburg.
Born on May 16, 1952 in Harrisburg, he was the son of the late Lester W. and Lillian Rae (Langston) Ginanni.
Les was a graduate of Trinity High School in Camp Hill. He went on to receive his Bachelor's degree in business from Penn State University. He was retired from Shaull Equipment & Supply in Lemoyne. A family business that was started by his father. Les owned and operated the business with help from his family members for over 20 years prior to his retirement. He was a member of St. Theresa Parish in New Cumberland, Lower Allen VFW, Post 7530, and American Legion Post 143, New Cumberland. Les was a man of great faith and supported many different religious organizations. He enjoyed reading, cooking, writing poetry, scuba diving, sailing, and most of all spending time with his family. He was very mechanical and loved to create inventions. He was a Licensed Pilot, Ski Instructor, and a former Basketball Coach for St. Theresa's Catholic School. He had a great sense of humor.
He is survived by six daughters, Julia Priar and her husband David, Annie Boyer and her husband Dan, Lillian Manges and her husband Jason, Jaclyn Lyons and her husband Pat, Eva Ginanni, and Lydia Ginanni; one son, Lester Ginanni, III; two sisters, Jean Smith and her husband Rex, and Nancy Ginanni; thirteen grandchildren, Lawson, Madeline, Samantha, Jeremy, Danny, Alana, Julian, Christian, Andy, Cody, Layla, Alina, and Leo; his two past-loves, Marta Mann and Steph Thiemann; and his loyal Dog, Andre.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Angela Ginanni, and two sisters, Mary L. Ginanni-Yeager, and Joanne Ginanni-Frank.
A mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday January 4, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 400 E. Simpson St., Mechanicsburg, with Reverend Thomas J. Rozman as Celebrant. A visitation with the family will be held in the church on Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the mass. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family at a later date. Myers-Harner Funeral & Cremation Services, Camp Hill, has been entrusted with funeral arrangements.
