Leona Mack, 96 of Camp Hill, passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2015, at Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill.
Born in Dickson City, she was the daughter of the late John and Pauline (Cominski) Zalewski.
She was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd and a member of the church Arimathean Group. She was employed in various capacities in the Department of Health and retired as a Retirement Counselor. She and her husband enjoyed the Elderhostel Programs in the U.S., England, and Scotland. Leona also served as Secretary of PARSE and was a volunteer at Holy Spirit Hospital for over 25 years. She enjoyed travel, reading, theater, dancing, and playing cards with friends. She was also a member of the West Shore YMCA for over 30 years. She and her husband also entertained at nursing homes with a dance group.
Leona is survived by her husband of 75 years, Joseph J. Mack, Sr., of Mechanicsburg; a daughter Mary Lou Finklestein and husband Bill of Santa Rosa, CA; her sons Joseph and wife Ginny of Myrtle Beach, SC; and Tom and wife Lesley, of Luray, VA. Three grandchildren, Robert, of Newark, DE; Jeffrey, of Piketown, PA; and Christine Patrowicz, of NJ. In addition, Leona was blessed with six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Walter and Frank Zalewski, and three sisters, Martha Novobilski, Stella Hudak, and Geraldine Zalewski.
A mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday October 20, 2015, at Good Shepherd Church with Rev. Phillip G. Burger as celebrant. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
