Kathryn A. "Kate" (Veigle) Powers, 74, of Lemoyne, PA passed away on Monday, May 20, 2024, at her residence, with her family by her side.

Born October 4, 1949, in Harrisburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Robert H. and Nancy (Anderson) Veigle. She married Edward Powers on September 12, 1970, and celebrated 53 years of marriage.

Kate was a 1968 graduate of John Harris High School in Harrisburg and received an associate degree from Harrisburg Area Community College. She was a secretary for the Senate of Pennsylvania for 31 years, retiring in 1999.

Kate was a very active member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Camp Hill where she belonged to the Women of Trinity, helped with the flowers, and decorating the church over the holidays, worked part-time as a church secretary, and was part of the quilting group within the church. She was a member of several other quilters' guilds. She was very well known as the "Nana" throughout the neighborhood.

She is survived by her loving husband Edward Powers, her son Brandon C. Powers, her grandson, Brody Riess-Powers, her sister Marguerite "Peggy" Koons and her brother Robert "Bob" Veigle, Jr. and his wife Donna.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, May 30, 2024, in the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2000 Chestnut Street, Camp Hill, PA 17011. Visitation will be held from 10:30 A.M. until the time of the service in the church.

Burial will take place in the church columbarium.
