Joyce Lorraine Lesher Sharples went home to be with the Lord on March 2, 2026 from Messiah Lifeways Nursing Home in Mechanicsburg, Pa. She was the widow of Edwin Sharples; she leaves a brother, Galen Lesher, a son, John Peters; and five grandchildren: Mathew and Brett Goulet, Lauren, Whitney and Joshua Smith. Joyce grew up in Elizabethtown, PA, where her parents Roy and Marie Lesher had a shoe store.

She attended Elizabethtown High School and married, for 3 years, Carl Peters, father of Brenda and John. After approximately 23 years later, she married Ed Sharples for 43 happy years in Camp Hill/Wormleysburg until his death. She retired from the Mechanicsburg Naval Depot where she was the receptionist and secretary for the Admirals.

They enjoyed going to sales and flea markets together. She enjoyed collecting and reading cookbooks (@5000), Ed built bookshelves in a room for her. She enjoyed the Williamsburg style and tried to make their home as Williamsburgy as possible. She later collected dolls and bears. She enjoyed buying toys and children books to give away.

Services will be held privately and at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are being handled by Myers-Baker Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc.
