John L. Keefer, 83, of West Chester, PA, and formerly of Camp Hill, PA, passed away on Sunday September 9, 2018 at the Chester County Hospital in West Chester.
Born on August 20, 1935 in Wilkes Barre, PA, he was the son of the late John M. and Eleanor (Schott) Keefer.
John was a graduate of Camp Hill High School. He was a US Army Veteran who served overseas in Korea. He received his associate degree from Oklahoma State College. John had a calling to serve his community as a fire fighter. He was a former Assistant Chief and a life member of the Camp Hill Fire Dept. He had also worked for Insurance Services Offices (ISO), where he was an Assistant Manager for Fire Insurance. Prior to moving to West Chester, he was a member of Camp Hill Presbyterian Church. John loved to spend time hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his loving wife Esther (Savage) Keefer, of West Chester, PA; and a step-daughter, Deborah Croft and her husband Edward, of Newark, DE.
All funeral services will be private, and interment will be handled at the convenience of his family at Rolling Green Cemetery, Camp Hill, PA.
