John Allen Jacobs, 78, of Camp Hill, PA, passed away on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Penn State Health Holy Spirit Hospital.
He was born July 18, 1947, in Washington, DC, the son of the late Harold John Jacobs and Mabel (Allen) Jacobs. He was married to Christine M. (Chastang) Jacobs for 56 years.
John graduated from Bladensburg High School in Bladensburg, Maryland and graduated from the University of Maryland and Virginia Commonwealth. He also obtained a degree in nursing from Harrisburg Area Community College. He retired after 20 years of service with the United States Air Force, where he was a Medical Service Specialist Health/Hospital Administrator and recruiter.
He received the following Commendations from the Air Force: Commendation medal, Two oak Leaf Clusters, AF Achievement Medal, AF Outstanding Unit Award, National Defense Service Medal, One Bronze Star, AF Overseas Short Tour Ribbon, AF Longevity Service Award Ribbon, Four Oak Leaf Clusters, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon, and AF Training Ribbon.
After retiring from the Air Force and earning his nursing degree, John worked at several health care facilities.
He enjoyed playing tennis, camping, and sailing and liked dabbling in the stock market. He was a member of Church of the Good Shepherd in Camp Hill.
In addition to his wife, Christine M. Jacobs, John is survived by two sons - Andrew Stephen Jacobs and Kevin Philip Jacobs.
A memorial mass will be held at the Church of the Good Shepherd, 3435 E. Trindle Road, Camp Hill, PA 17011, on Saturday, January 17, 2026, with Rev. Neil S. Sullivan as Celebrant. A visitation will be at 10:30 a.m., and the mass will begin at 11:00 a.m..
