John E. Dunkle, 81, of New Cumberland, PA, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at Holy Spirit Hospital in Camp Hill, PA. Born on February 18, 1944, John was a proud graduate of Camp Hill High School. He built a fulfilling career as a delivery driver for UPS, and later lent his skills to Lowes. Known for his dry wit and keen sense of humor, John had a unique talent for gentle teasing that brought smiles to those around him. Above all, he cherished his family, who were the cornerstone of his life. John is survived by his two daughters, Mary Purtle and her husband Charles, of Mechanicsburg, PA, and Amanda Stank and her husband Jacob, of Linglestown, PA. He also leaves behind a brother, Thomas Dunkle and his wife Carol, of Camp Hill, PA a sister, Grace Collins and her husband Dan, of Texas and four beloved grandchildren: Amelia and Ella Purtle, and Clifford and Owen Stank. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 24 years, Nancy (Myers) Dunkle, who passed away in 2021, as well as a brother, James Dunkle. A celebration of Johnrsquos life will be arranged by his family at a later date. Myers-Baker Funeral Cremation Services in Camp Hill, PA, has been entrusted with funeral arrangements. John will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
