Joan Kelleher Regan, 95, of Camp Hill, PA., passed away peacefully at home and surrounded by her family on Tuesday morning, September 8, 2026. She was born January 2, 1931 in Hamden, CT., to the late Joe and Florence (Thompson) Kelleher.

After over 20 years as a homemaker and mom and raising her 4 kids, Joan was widowed in 1983 by the death of her husband, John “Red” Regan . Her stoicism, spirit, and strength carried her thru the loss of her husband, into the workforce and eventually led her to go to work as a secretary of Library Services for Yale University, where she retired in 1996. Joan and her husband John “Red” Regan met in New Haven, CT, in the mid-1950’s, and they loved family vacations on Block Island, RI, a tradition passed on to their kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids. They enjoyed playing tennis, watching their kids play sports in the front yard, and boating with their kids, dog, and cat. In her later years she enjoyed traveling to Europe with friends, caring for her grandkids, greeting them when they got home from school, and attending their sports events and recitals.

At the age of 85 Joan moved from Madison, CT, her hometown of over 50 years to Camp Hill, PA to live with her son, Peter, daughter-in-law Jessie, grand kids Joe and Ruby, and dogs Prince and Rocky. In her later years she enjoyed traveling to Block Island, RI, Ocean City, NJ, and Taylor’s Island, MD. In addition to her love of reading, Joan enjoyed crossword puzzles, and jigsaw puzzling for hours on end with her daughter-in-law, Jessie. Joan remained an avid reader right up to the last few days of her life.

Joan is survived by her children, Peter (Jessica) Regan, Scott Regan, Martin (Lisa) Regan, and Dana (TJ) Ruberti; grandchildren, Brandon, Carly, Cameron, Rory, Connor, Jack, Joseph, and Ruby; and great-grandchildren, Reid and Rowan, and nieces Robin Kelleher Davis, Romie Kelleher Donofrio, and nephew Rori Kelleher.

In addition to her parents, and brother Roger, Joan was preceded in death by her husband of more than 25 years, John Edward “Red” Regan.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Block Island (RI) Conservancy, Shriners Children’s Hospital, and the Fredrickson Library, Camp Hill, PA.
