Jesse R. Phillips, 89, of Camp Hill, passed away on Saturday April 26, 2014 at his home.
Born on March 23, 1925 in Mahanoy City, PA, he was the son of the late Jesse and Mary (Wevurski) Phillips. He graduated from Mahanoy City High School. He was a WWII Veteran of the Army Air Corp. Jesse was retired from Amp, Inc. He was a Charter Member of the West Shore Baptist Church, and the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife Margaret "Peggy" (Evans) Phillips, of Camp Hill, three sons, Robert J. Phillips and his wife Jean, of Lemoyne; William E. Phillips and his wife Dawn, of Mechanicsburg; and Thomas F. Phillips, of Camp Hill; a daughter, Mary Beth Phillips, of Lemoyne; two sisters, Grace Richmond, of Mahanoy City; Dorothy St. John, of Lake George, NY, three grandchildren, one step granddaughter, three great grandchildren; a longtime friend, Mark A. Vickrey, of Camp Hill. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Roberts.
A graveside service with military honors will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday April 30, 2014 in the Chapel of Peace, located on the grounds of Rolling Green Cemetery, 1811 Carlisle Rd., Camp Hill, with Pastor Gary R. Bruland officiating. Myers-Harner Funeral Home, 1903 Market St. is handling funeral arrangements.
