James Patrick
Finnucan
Feb 6, 1944 — Aug 21, 2024
James Patrick "Pat" Finnucan, 80, passed away on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at his residence. He was born February 6, 1944, to the late Cornelius and Helen (Baran) Finnucan in Meadville, PA.
Pat received his Bachelor's degree from Edinboro University and his Master's degree from Temple University. He retired in 2002 after decades as a passionate teacher at Red Land High School, where he connected students with potential careers and had the pleasure of shaping many young lives. Pat loved sharing what he knew. He also empowered people at Advantage Driving School, which he owned and operated for 20 years.
Pat was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd. He lived his faith through warmth and kindness in every interaction. But, Pat had a competitive spirit too, both as a college football player and as an avid, lifelong fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Penn State. He often watched games with family and friends at Treasure Lake, where they spent summers boating and fishing. Pat was always the life of the party, affectionately remembered as Bubba. Those who knew him will recall his fun-loving spirit, spontaneity, and his countless stories and jokes. He will be deeply missed.
Surviving Pat is his devoted, loving wife and fellow educator, Donna Finnucan; daughters, Lisa (Michael) Shuey, and Lori (William) Drawbaugh; grandchildren, Nicolas Giles, Benjamin Giles, Zachary Giles, Joanne Drawbaugh, and Douglas Drawbaugh; and siblings, John Finnucan, Mary Smith, and Helen Hospodar; as well as a large extended family who loved him dearly.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, August 29, 2024, at 11:00 AM in the Church of the Good Shepherd, 3435 E Trindle Rd, Camp Hill, PA 17011, with Father Neil Sullivan officiating. A visitation will be held at 10:00 AM until the time of service. Interment will be held in Rolling Green Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Catherine of Siena Church, 118 S. State Street, DuBois, PA 15801, which Pat always loved, or a charity of your choice.
