James A. Dunkle, 76, of Mechanicsburg passed away at Hershey Medical Center, July 5, 2017, surrounded by his family. Born in Harrisburg, PA, he was the son of the late Arthur M. and Mary C. Dunkle. Jim graduated from Camp Hill High School and York Junior College prior to serving with distinction in the U.S. Air Force. Jim spent his professional career working through the ranks of Bell Telephone/AT&T.

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen (Ford) Dunkle of Mechanicsburg, PA; daughters Jennifer Trotter (Robert) of Warminster, PA and Leigh Canavan (Stephen) of Atlanta, GA; and grandchildren Megan and Robbie Trotter and Owen and Lila Canavan. Jim is also survived by his siblings, John Dunkle, Thomas Dunkle and Grace Collins.

Jim enjoyed baseball, spending time outdoors and puttering around the home. Above all, he loved spending time with his family and wide circle of friends. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at 12:30 P.M. at The Catering Barn, 729 Williams Grove Road, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055 with a reception immediately following.
