Irene Kelly Dissinger, 89, passed away on Saturday November 12, 2016. The loving wife of Harry Boas Dissinger, long-time resident of Camp Hill Pennsylvania and the Central Pennsylvania region Irene was born in New York City on September 29th, 1927. The daughter of Alice and Charles (Barlie) Adams she grew up in a military family and lived in Virginia, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. She graduated with honors from Egg Harbor High School 1945 and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing in 1949. It was in Philadelphia that she met the love of her life Harry Boas Dissinger and got married shortly thereafter. "Renee", as she was known by her friends, enjoyed raising her family. From teaching them to swim, encouraging their interests in music and the arts and celebrating their life-long milestones, she was a wonderful mother and grandmother. Known as "Mimi" to her grandchildren she adored spending time with them and of late sharing memories and photos with them on her IPad and on Facetime. A longtime member of the Camp Hill Presbyterian Church and member of the Order of Eastern Star, she was concerned about the health and well-being of other people's families and their children, and contributed to the life-saving work done by the American Heart Association and other charitable organizations. She loved gardening and bird watching, painting and in particular watercolors, writing and calligraphy, and playing bridge. She was an avid golfer and enjoyed golfing vacations with friends and family and in particular the winters in Fort Meyers, Florida. Always up for a gathering of friends or family she loved being with people and enjoyed a party and this past month celebrated her 89th birthday. Renee is survived by her son's Harry and dear friend Gloria Johnson, Donald and wife Lisa Good and grandson Peter Good, daughter Patti and husband Brian Swift and granddaughter Nicole Grace; her sisters Gertrude Guerrier, Carol Goodkin and husband Leonard, and sister-in-law Helen Dissinger; and her nieces and nephews Andrea Weinstein and two children Rebecca and Kyle, Denise Smith husband Harold and daughter Jillian, Kenneth Guerrier and dear friend Colleen, Charles Dissinger II wife Nora, Anthony Dissinger wife Patti daughters, Maria and Maggie) and Ronald Dissinger wife Wenda and two children Celia and Ryan. She is preceded in death by her husband Harry and brothers-in-law Charles Dissinger Sr. and Joseph Guerrier. Renee and her family wish to extend their sincere appreciation for those who have helped our family provide the loving care and personal dedication to mom's overall health and well-being over the past several years. In particularly, Diana and David Howey, Susan Clemens, Ashley Smith, Donna Becknauld and the team from Celtic Hospice. Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend a memorial service and celebration of her life on Saturday November 26th, at the Richard D. Rife Center at Bethany Village located on Wesley Drive in Mechanicsburg Pennsylvania. The service will begin at 11:00 am and will be officiated by Rev. David Roquemore of the Camp Hill Presbyterian Church assisted by Chaplain Brand Eaton of Bethany Village. A luncheon will follow at noon. Burial will be private and handled at the convenience of the family in Rolling Green Cemetery, Camp Hill.
