Ida May Englehart, 88, of Camp Hill, passed away on Saturday October 10, 2015 at Select Specialty Hospital, Camp Hill.
Born on December 16, 1926 in Upper Darby, PA, she was the daughter of the late Ross and Louisa (Brown) Ritter. On September 13, 1947 she married Richard T. Englehart, who passed away in 2004. Together they had traveled to all 50 states and throughout the world.
Ida May was a 1943 graduate of Upper Darby High School. In 1946 she received her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science (now the University of Sciences in Philadelphia.) She worked in many areas of pharmacy- community, hospital, Executive Secretary of the State Board of Pharmacy- but her favorite was nursing home consultant pharmacy. She maintained her pharmacy license for over 65 years and was the oldest pharmacist to become certified in geriatric pharmacy. She was a member and past president of both the Pennsylvania Pharmacists Association, and the Capital Area Pharmacy Association. She was also a member of the American Pharmacists Association, and a Fellow of the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists.
Ida May was a member of the Camp Hill Presbyterian Church, where she was a church elder, a leader in the Presbyterian Women, and a longtime choir member.
She is survived by a daughter, Diane L. Fusco (John), of Bellefonte, PA, two sons, David L. Englehart (LuAnn Gallup), of Harrisburg, and J. Mark Englehart (Debbie), of Montgomery, AL., five grandchildren: Stephanie Ward of Nashville, TN, Michael Fusco of Winchester, VA, Paul Fusco of Bellefonte, PA; Brooke Shaffer (Josh) of Lemoyne, PA, and Amie Englehart of Harrisburg, PA and their mother Jennifer Patton; and two great-grandchildren: Landon and Maddox Shaffer.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by a son, R. Thomas Englehart, Jr., and a brother, Ross Ritter.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday October 24, 2015 in the Camp Hill Presbyterian Church, 101 N. 23rd St., Camp Hill, PA 17011, with the Rev. Dr. David Roquemore officiating, with a reception to follow in the church. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday October 23, 2015 at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. Myers-Harner Funeral & Cremation Services, Camp Hill, is handling funeral arrangements.
