Howard Van Locke II, passed peacefully into the arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, July 21, 2024, after a short but fierce battle with brain cancer.

Born on April 7, 1943, in Huntingdon, PA, he was the son of the late Radford C. and Eleanor (Huston) Locke.

Howard, also known by his family as Van, is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Donna Kay (Stains) Locke, of Mechanicsburg, PA. He is also survived by his two daughters, Tammy Barnhart and her husband Tye, of New Freedom, Pennsylvania, Christine Quillen and her husband Rich, of Milford, Delaware, a brother, Lyn Locke, of Columbia, Maryland, two sisters, Diane Woodward, of Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, and Paula Darby, of McKinney, Texas, three granddaughters, Valerie Locke, Gracen Barnhart, and Trinity Lebo and her husband Kameron, four grandsons, Tyler Voyzey and his wife Casey, Christian Voyzey, Grantham Barnhart, and Richie Quillen, a great grandson, Jude, a daughter-in-law, Pamela Locke, and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his son Brian Locke.

Howard was a member of the Camp Hill Church of God for almost 50 years where he served in many capacities. He was a longtime church elder and life elder.  He was also a Mason and Tall Cedar.  Howard was a graduate of the former Orbisonia High School, he went on to receive his bachelor's degree from Penn State University.  He was a retired Customer Service Representative with Verizon.  Prior to his employment with Verizon, Howard was a Sales Manager for World Book Encyclopedias, Chicago, and prior to World Book he was a High School Teacher at the Chopticon High School, in Morganza, MD. Howard enjoyed golf, reading, traveling and spending time with his family. He was always planning his next trip. He also loved volunteering at Camp YoliJwa and Mission Central.

A visitation with Howards family will be held on Friday, August 2, 2024, from 10:00 A.M.-11:00 A.M. in the Camp Hill Church of God, 123 N. 21st St., Camp Hill, PA.  A Masonic service will be held in the church starting at 11:15 A.M. with a funeral service starting at 11:30 A.M. with Pastor Jason Cooksey officiating.  Interment will be held immediately following the service in Rolling Green Cemetery, Camp Hill, PA.  Myers-Baker Funeral & Cremation Services, Camp Hill, has been entrusted with funeral arrangements.
