Herbert A.
Cosgrove
Dec 20, 1921 — Dec 22, 2015
Herbert A. Cosgrove, 94, of Camp Hill, PA (formerly of Pittsburgh, PA) went to his Heavenly home on Tuesday, December 22, 2015. Herbert "Boz" was pre-deceased by 5 brothers and 4 sisters, his parents, William and Anna Cosgrove and his high school sweetheart and love of his life, his wife, Hazel. He is the beloved father of David (Victoria) Cosgrove of West Mifflin, PA; Cheryl (Jack) Matis of Camp Hill, PA; Marilyn (Don) Morosky of Boiling Springs, PA; and Robert (Desiree) Cosgrove of White Oak, PA. He was the proud grandfather of Heather (Bo) Rudy, Beth (Joel) Seitz, Lauren Cosgrove and Robert (Elizabeth) Cosgrove. Herb also had five great-grandchildren, Parker Seitz, Wyatt, Lucas and Benjamin Rudy and Harley Rae Cosgrove.
Herbert was a faithful member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church, the Harrisburg Bridge Club and was a lifetime member of the Elks B.P.O.E. 2257. He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh where he was captain of the swimming team. He proudly served his country in the Army and was in Germany during WWII.
Herb's most treasured times were the times he spent with his family. He was a man of strong faith and compassion. There was never anything he wouldn't do for someone in need…he would always say, "no problem". He held his family, his faith and his country close to his heart always and had a ready smile and handshake for everyone he met along life's way. His signature quality was his positive outlook on life. He never let things get him down and always found a "silver lining" in what life handed him. He will be forever missed by his family …… he was our hero!
A mass of Christian burial will be held at 12:00 P.M. in the Church of the Good Shepherd, 3435 E. Trindle Rd., Camp Hill, PA, with the Rev. Phillip Burger as Celebrant.
