Greta (Miller) Guilday's worn out and overly-used heart gave out after a lifetime of demonstrating devoted love of life, family, friends, and countless four-legged and flighted animals. Born in Buffalo, New York; raised in Grosse Pointe, Michigan; and finally settling in the Camp Hill area of Pennsylvania, Greta did not hesitate to involve herself in causes near and dear to her.

A life-long Republican, Greta attended countless meetings to support the grass roots of the party. She met her first husband, Henry Line, III, at one such event, and from that relationship grew a family including her two beloved and beautiful daughters, Christine and Janette.

While enduring their toddler years, Greta continued what became a decades-long career for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, in the Budget Office of Governor, as a Budget Analyst, focusing primarily on the funding of our Commonwealth's schools. One of her happiest memories was securing last-minute funding for the Philadelphia School District upon its acquisition by the state. Upon surviving the "teenage" years, Greta rewarded herself with a date with a captain-- Captain Joseph W. Guilday, who was known amongst friends as the "Riverrat," a Delaware River Pilot, and friend to the Harrisburg Legislature. Together they climbed Jacob's ladders, galleys, crashed parties, and fell madly in love. Throughout the course of their marriage, they travelled the world. While they obtained many passport stamps, they settled annually in Barbados and Cape May, New Jersey, enjoying the sun and the birds, whom Greta unabashedly spoiled with endless treats.

In her spare time, Greta served on the Hampden Township Planning Commission defending the sovereignty of a local neighborhood and ensuring that travel along the Carlisle Pike and Interstate 581 remained as smooth as possible. When she wasn't consumed by civics, or her daughters' raucous stereos, Greta enjoyed an array of classical music, the Blues, Broadway, and the fine art museums of New York City.

Greta memorialized her beautiful life by timing her death to coincide with that of the Riverrat's, just a mere two days later. Some say she died of a broken heart, others say that she just couldn't wait for the next adventure. Her daughters ask for an instant replay and re-do in its entirety.

She leaves behind two loving and devoted daughters Christine Line (Scott Ehrig); Janette (Chris) Karlsen; and two adored and snuggled grandsons. Also, she parts with six step-children and twelve step-grandchildren. She also leaves behind a beloved brother, Douglas (Stephanie) Miller. She is also survived by countless friends in Camp Hill and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and Cape May, New Jersey, all of whom brought joy to her every day; as well as scores of birds who will regrettably take wing to find a feast from another. While having an accomplished life, perhaps her greatest legacy is having taught that love is the greatest gift and easiest to share.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on April 12, 2019, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church at 2000 Chestnut Street, Camp Hill, Pennsylvania, 17011. A visitation will be held at the church beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service. Due to the season of Lent, in lieu of flowers donations may be made to Operation Smile, P.O.
