Glenn Irvin Wareham, 71, of York Haven, PA, passed away peacefully at his home on

Monday, July 8, 2024.

Born on July 25, 1952, in Mechanicsburg, PA, he was the son of the late Glenn L. and

Freda E. (Baker) Wareham.

Glenn enlisted in the United States Marine Corps just after high school where he began his career as a

drill instructor reaching the rank of Master Sergeant later ending up his career as a top recruiter for the

Harrisburg Recruiting Station. After retiring from the Marine Corps Glenn enjoyed a new career as a Realtor

starting first with John Glise Realty then moving on to join RE/MAX Realty Associates where he started his

home building company Maxwell Homes, Inc. Glenn enjoyed hunting, fishing, skiing and golf and loved to

travel and had visited several different countries but his favorites were either boating in the Caribbean with

friends or taking his large and rowdy family to the beach for the yearly hullabaloo. Glenn was an avid cyclist

and as a past President of the Harrisburg Bicycle Club he was instrumental in advocating and initiating new

bike safety initiatives. Glenn was always on time and always on the move.

Glenn is survived by his wife Patty (Kent) Wareham, a daughter, Theresa E. Murray (Dave), a son, Glenn

J. Wareham, three stepchildren, Shane K. Hancock (Erinne), Garrett Hancock, and Kristen J. Hancock, three

brothers, Larry Wareham (Josephine), Kenny Wareham (Julie), Barry Wareham (Cindy), a sister, Donna Livering,

five grandchildren, Max Murray, Mason Murray, Addelyn Korman, Benton Hancock, and Tommy Hancock, and

several nieces and a nephews.

He was preceded in death by a sister Barbara J. Genther.

All are invited to attend a visitation with Glenn's family to be held from 9:30 A.M. until 11:30 A.M. on

Friday, July 19, 2024, in the Myers-Baker Funeral Home, 1903 Market St., Camp Hill, PA. Interment will be

private and handled at the convenience of the family.

Glenn's contribution to cycling in the Central Pennsylvania was tremendous and he was an incredible leader and motivator for fellow cyclists If you are interested in sending a memorial in his honor, Patty asked that in lieu of flowers, HBC members can make a memorial contribution to either Recycle Bicycle or HBC's Pontius Fund (used to subsidize members on purchasing safety equipment). If interested in donating to Recycle Bicycle, the instructions can be found on the following website:
