Obituary

George Robert Myers, 69, of Mechanicsburg, PA, passed away on Sunday, March 16, 2025, at his home. Born on December 13, 1955, in Camp Hill, PA, he was the son of the late, George Musser and Jane Carolyn (Gaiser) Myers. George was a graduate of Camp Hill High School. He went on to attend Juniata College and Elizabethtown College and subsequently, was the final owner and operator of Myers Manufacturing Company, a family specialty advertising business that operated from 1903 to 1999. He then continued his sales career with Lawerence Chevrolet, and then Bob Ruth Ford of Dillsburg, where he was a valued employee. George was an avid hunter and fisherman and a member of the Green Brush Hunting Camp, near Lewistown PA. On long-weekends, George would head out to the camp, looking for a little peace and quiet. Always a fixture on the front porch, he loved it there George was also very active with the Camp Hill High School Class of 1973 reunion planning committee, who continued their camaraderie, long past their 50th reunion These were friends he often talked about helliphellipalways remembering the good old days, but also enjoying many rekindled friendships. Last but not least, George dearly loved his family, and could always be counted on to attend birthday celebrations, graduations, Christmas gatherings, weddings and other special events. His jovial presence made these days festive. If he wasnrsquot telling jokes, he would be sharing hunting stories, fish photos, class reunion updates, or memories of beloved family members. George is survived by his sister, Patricia Havens and her husband Andrew, of Williamsport, PA, two nephews, Jeffrey Myers Ulman and Jonathan Edward Havens (Melissa), a niece Lindsay Anne Havens, as well as cousins and friends. He also remained close to his former wife Jane D. Myers and her children Christine Smith (Randy), Eric Spahr (Cara), and grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Susan Jane Myers. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 28, 2025, in the Myers-Baker Funeral Home, 1903 Market St., Camp Hill, PA, with Rev. Keith Searfoss officiating. The family will begin greeting guests at 1:00 P.M., followed by the funeral service at 2:00 P.M. Burial in Trindle Springs Cemetery, Mechanicsburg, will be held directly after the service. Family and friends are invited to stay for a gathering to remember George after the burial. This location will be announced at the service.
