Eugenia Bence, 87, of Camp Hill, PA, passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at Legend at Silver Creek, Mechanicsburg.
Born on November 4, 1936, in Harrisburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Mario and Angelina (Cheli) Marchi, and she was the widow of John G. Bence.
Eugenia was a graduate of Catholic High School in Harrisburg, currently known as Bishop McDevitt High School, where she was a member of the school Alumni Association. She was a former Clerk for the PA Department of Transportation. Eugenia was a longtime member of the Church of the Good Shepherd in Camp Hill. She loved spending time with her friends, family, and grandchildren, sewing, working in her garden, reading, and playing cards. Eugenia was a huge Disney fan and enjoyed many trips with her family to Walt Disney World. She also liked traveling throughout the U.S. and abroad, especially to Italy.
She is survived by her daughter, Juliana M. Brown, and her husband Tyler, of Mechanicsburg, PA, and two grandchildren, Shannon Brown and Caitlin Brown.
In addition to her husband John G. Bence, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Julius Marchi and Angelo Marchi, and two sisters, Josephine Goodman and Mary Calamia.
A mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, October 3, 2024, in the Church of the Good Shepherd, 3435 Trindle Rd., Camp Hill, PA, with Rev. Neil S. Sullivan officiating. A viewing will be held in the church on Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the mass. Burial will be held following the mass in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA. Myers-Baker Funeral & Cremation Services, Camp Hill, has been entrusted with funeral arrangements.
