Obituary

Edward J. Carl, 91, of Camp Hill, veteran of WWII, former District Justice, entered his heavenly home on January 15, 2015. Ed was a founding member of Good Shepherd Parish and strove to be a faithful servant of God throughout his life. He was a graduate of Camp Hill High School, attended Dickinson University, and was a member of numerous organizations and clubs including The Mechanicsburg Club, Knights of Columbus, the "Elks", The Cursillo Movement, and The American Legion, among others. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Pat (Metzger) and his 6 children, Cindy Rittel (Barry); Mary Speca (Dan); Edward W. (Janice Reksten); Margaret Paredes (Patricio); Kitty Kuntz (Fran), and Daniel. To continue his legacy of family and faith are also his 17 grandchildren, Michael, Christina White, Matthew, Kelly, and Kim Rittel; Monica, Maria, and Michaela Speca; Gabriella and Cristopher Paredes; Francis Jr., Christian, Anna, Brandon, and Zachary Kuntz; Olivia and Cecily Carl, and also 2 great-granddaughters-Lila Kuntz and Mya Speca, with two more coming this year. In addition he is survived by his two younger brothers Thomas A., and William, along with numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday January 22, 2015 in the Church of the Good Shepherd, 3435 Trindle Rd., Camp Hill, with the Rev. Paul C. Helwig as Celebrant. Burial will follow with full Military Honors in Rolling Green Cemetery, Camp Hill. In accordance with Ed's wishes, prayers and Masses are requested in lieu of flowers.
