Edna Carolyn Cal Ray Johnson It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Edna Ray Johnson, who departed this life on March 8, 2025, in Mechanicsburg, PA. Born on August 8, 1944, in Columbus, GA, Edna was the beloved daughter of Grace and Joseph Ray. She lived a life defined by love, dedication, and service to others. A proud veteran of the United States Air Force, Edna went on to work for TWA before retiring from the State of Maryland. She was a woman of strength and grace, always placing her family at the center of her life. Edna was preceded in death by her husband, William Edward Johnson, who passed in 2017 her sister, Mary Patsy Watson, her brother, Michael Ray her niece, Carolyn Ray and nephew, Terrence Watson. She is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Kesha Maury (Samuel) and Kimberly Kavanagh (Matthew). She was a devoted grandmother to six grandchildren: Grace, Frances, Samuel, Mackenzie, Jackson and Natalie. Edna is also survived by her brothers, Joseph S. Ray Jr. and Roy Ray (Barbara). She leaves behind a cherished legacy with her nieces and nephews Stephanie, Valerie, Michael, Christopher, Rick, Gregory, and Kenny. Ednas warmth, wisdom, and kindness touched the lives of all who knew her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever. A service to honor and celebrate Ednas life will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a future date.
