Edmund Lawton Moore III passed away peacefully on January 24th, 2016 with the comforting care of Hospice at the VA Medical Center in Lebanon.
He was the son of Edmund Lawton Moore II and Miriam McCloskey Moore.
Ed was the oldest brother of Jon Nevin Moore with his wife Laurin (Pittsburgh) David Gregory Moore (the Masonic Village) and Liz Moore Reilly with her husband Terry (Camp Hill.)
He was "Uncle Ed" to Jon Garrett Moore, Jessica Moore Lear with her husband Jon, Alex Saenz Cairone, Amanda Saenz, and great nephew Lincoln Cairone.
Ed was a 1966 graduate of Camp Hill High School, attended Penn State, and served in the U.S. Army stationed in Germany, where he first developed his love for European motorcycles.
Ed worked most of his career as a respiratory therapist in central PA. He was friends to many with whom he worked, cycled and rallied, and just plain "kibitzed" with his intellect, vast base of knowledge from reading, and was someone to ask (or be told without asking) about any subject at any time, including his passion for politics.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 Saturday, January 30 at Myers-Harner Funeral Home, 1903 Market Street, Camp Hill, preceded by a visitation at 10:00. Interment (at a later date) will be at Camp Hill United Methodist Church.
In honor of Ed's dog, sweet Lydia, the family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Canine Rescue of Central, PA Inc.,
P.O. Box 129, Dillsburg, PA 17019.
