Obituary

Edith Naomi Rudy Beasom, 92, of Mechanicsburg, passed away on Monday July 8, 2019 at her home. Born on December 4, 1926 in Harrisburg, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Mary (Hoffman) Buck, and she was the widow of Harold G. Rudy, Jr. Edith was a graduate of Lemoyne High School. She went on to receive her LPN certification from the Harrisburg Hospital School of Nursing. She was an LPN for Holy Spirit Hospital for over ten years. She is a member of the Millerstown United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir, and participated in various missions. She volunteered for the Senior Center, Meals on Wheels, and the Head Start Program. Edith is survived by four daughters, Beverly A. Keith (Don), of Canon City, CO, Karen L. Lockard (Jack), of Mechanicsburg, Catherine E. Bankes, of Mechanicsburg, and Bonnie J. Shelleman (Rod), of Mechanicsburg; a son, George E. Rudy (Lisa), of Newport; two step-sons, Leonard Beasom (Ann), of Mechanicsburg, and David Beasom (Eileen), of Middletown; a brother, Arthur Buck (Ann), of San Diego, CA; eighteen grandchildren and thirty-two great grandchildren. In addition to her first husband, she was preceded in death by her second husband, Leonard K. Beasom; a son-in-law, Anthony Bankes, five sisters, Esther, Martha, and Catherine Buck, Clara McCoig, and Marion Beasom; and a brother, Lawrence Buck. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday July 12, 2019 at the Millerstown United Methodist Church, 23 N. High St, Millerstown, PA, with Pastor Fred Rudy officiating. A viewing will be held in the church on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family in Paxtang Cemetery, Harrisburg. Myers-Harner Funeral & Cremation Services, Camp Hill, has been entrusted with funeral arrangements. Memorial Contributions may be made to Millerstown United Methodist Church Mission Fund.
