Doris H. Pond, 90, a longtime resident of Camp Hill, passed away on Wednesday March 4, 2015 at Messiah Lifeways, Mechanicsburg.
Born on September 29, 1924 in Shenandoah, PA, she was the daughter of the late Ward and Emma (Manbeck) Hetherington.
Doris was a past employee of Central Soya Corp., of Camp Hill and she was retired from Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, where she was the financial secretary. She was also a dedicated member of Trinity and sang in the church choir. She was a past member of the Camp Hill Women's Club and was formerly a Committee Woman for the Republican Party.
She is survived by her husband, Walter B. Pond, at Messiah Lifeways; a son W. Bernard Pond and his wife Ann, of Middletown, MD; a brother, Burton Hetherington and his wife Louise, of Ringtown, PA; and a grandson, Hayden Pond, of Middletown, MD. She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Vera Sheaffer, of New Cumberland.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday March 11, 2015 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2000 Chestnut St., Camp Hill, PA 17011, with the Rev. John H. Brock and Bishop Guy Edmiston officiating. A viewing will be held in the church library on Wednesday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Burial will be held following the service in Rolling Green Cemetery, Camp Hill.
