Dolly Scholl, 94, of Mechanicsburg, PA, passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2024, at UPMC West Shore Hospital, Mechanicsburg, PA.

Born on June 16, 1930, in Pittsburgh, PA, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Irene L. (Smykowski) Stemske.

Dolly was a 1949 graduate of West View High School, Pittsburgh, PA. She went on to attend Duquesne University. During her time at Duquesne she was a member of the Civic Light Opera in Pittsburgh. Dolly was a dedicated mother and homemaker. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Mechanicsburg, PA. Dolly was a former member of the Republican Committee Women in Hampden Twp., and a past president and member of both the Camp Hill Women's Club and the United Methodist Women's Group. She was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, and she served as a Docent at the Governor's Mansion. She enjoyed golfing at the Country Club of Harrisburg where she played with the 9-hole lady golfers.

Dolly is survived by her husband of 73 years, David C. Scholl, of Mechanicsburg, PA, three daughters, Lindy Scholl, of New Cumberland, Judy I. Scholl and her partner Gregg Gulden, of Mt. Holly Springs, PA, and Carol Ferenz and her husband Paul, of Carlisle, PA, five grandchildren, Carolyn Lyons and her partner Howard Walfish, of Brooklyn, NY, Steven Stoner, Amy Stoner, and Rachel and David Ferenz.

She was preceded in death by three grandsons, Benjamin S. "Beaner" Lyons, Nikolas W. Lyons, and Matthew D. Lyons.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, September 5, 2024 in the First United Methodist Church, 135 W. Simpson St., Mechanicsburg, PA with Rev. Mira Hewlett and Rev. Mike Minnix officiating. A viewing will be held from 6:00 P.M.- 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, September 4th, in the Myers-Baker Funeral Home, 1903 Market St., Camp Hill, PA and also in the church on Thursday from 12:00 P.M. until the time of the service. Burial will be held in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Mechanicsburg.
