Deborah B. Keys, a lifetime resident of the Harrisburg area, passed away at home in Mechanicsburg on March 16, 2025. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Jim Keys, and her loving family. Debbie was born in Bloomsburg, PA, on October 21, 1949, the daughter of John C. and Barbara K. Brown. She was a 1967 graduate of Bishop McDevitt High School. Debbie attended Shippensburg State College, before beginning her career in fashion merchandising and retail sales for Mary Sachs in downtown Harrisburg. She then furthered her career by managing Mary Sachs, Hessrsquos, and Macyrsquos stores in the Harrisburg area. In 1986, Debbie and Jim took a leap of faith and bought a 60-year-old, family run flower business ndash Pealerrsquos Flowers. Debbie poured her heart and soul into Pealerrsquos, striving to make life beautiful. After 31 years of running the business, Debbie and Jim sold Pealerrsquos Flowers, and Debbie continued to run an offshoot of the flower shop, Pealerrsquos Plantscapes. Nothing thrilled Debbie more than being in the business. One of Debbiersquos biggest passions in life was politics, and she served the Republican party in many different roles: as the current vice-chair of the Cumberland County Republican Committee, and member of the Cumberland County Council of Republican Women, and as a former state committee woman, central caucus treasurer, Camp Hill borough council member, RNC Delegate, and treasurer for Senator Pat Vance. Above all, Debbie adored her family. She is survived by her husband, Jim, with whom she had many wonderful life adventures her beloved daughter, Mary Ann (Keys) Nocciolo and son-in-law, Jake, of Freehold, NJ and by the two joys of her life, her granddaughters, Adelina and Emilia. Debbie relished her role as ldquoMischrdquo and spent so many hours traveling to New Jersey to be with her girls. Debbie is also survived by her siblings, Kathy Brown of Stow, Ohio David Brown (Linda) of Berlin, Maryland Kim Brown (Russ) of Louisville, Colorado and Mike Brown, of Elizabethtown, PA. Debbie was bigger than the life she lived. Her level of energy and work ethic surpassed everyone, and no one loved life more than Debbie. She expected the best from everyone because she always gave her best to all. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 7:00 P.M on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at the Myers-Baker Funeral Home, 1903 Market Street, Camp Hill, PA 17011. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, March 21, 2025, at St. Patrickrsquos Cathedral, 212 State Street, Harrisburg, PA 17101. Memorial donations can be made in Debbiersquos honor to the Lourdeshouse Maternity Home, 120 Willow Road, Suite A, Harrisburg, PA 17109, an organization close to Debbiersquos heart.
