Obituary

Daniel P. Speca, 58 of Mechanicsburg passed away on Tuesday November 7, 2017 at Holy Spirit Hospital. Born in Pittsburgh Feb. 17, 1959, the youngest son of the late G. "Woody" and Renata (Carminucci) Speca, Dan was a 1977 Carlynton High School graduate and class officer, a 4 year letterman (javelin) at Shippensburg University (BS.Ed), and a database administrator for EDS-HPE- DXC Technologies, working until his death on Tuesday. Although battling cancer for 30 years, Dan coached GS CYO girls' basketball for his daughter Michaela, the javelin throw for Trinity High School's Track Team, and shared his endless hope and faith with others. Dan was a member of the Church of Good Shepherd, the Cursillo Movement of Harrisburg, and TMIY at St. Theresa's in New Cumberland. Dan was both a beneficiary and supporter of Our Lady of Lourdes North American Lourdes Volunteers who take the sick and handicapped on pilgrimages to Lourdes. Dan is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Mary H. (Carl) Speca; three beautiful loving daughters, Monica Speca (Henry Ulrich); Maria Speca; Michaela Speca, all of Mechanicsburg; his brothers and their wives, Gerry and Mary Ann Speca of Falmouth, MA, and Jay and Colette Speca of McMurray, PA. One grandchild, Mya Grace, and numerous nieces and nephews. The Mass of Christian Burial is on Wednesday Nov. 15, 2017@ 11:00 A.M in the Church of Good Shepherd, Trindle Rd. Camp Hill, Rev. Philip Burger as celebrant. The viewing, visitation, and rosary is on Tuesday November 14th from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Myers-Harner Funeral Home 1903 Market St. Camp Hill, and also in the church on Wednesday from 10:00 A.M. until the start of Mass. Burial will follow immediately at Rolling Green Cemetery Camp Hill. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospitality North American Volunteers http://lourdesvolunteers.org/
