Obituary

Craig A. Williamson,89 of Camp Hill died peacefully at home early Sunday morning February 9,2014. Craig was born August 5,1924 in Erie,Pa. to Hubert and Louise Himrod Williamson. In 1942 Craig graduated from Academy High School Erie,Pa. where he was class president. Craig enlisted in the Navy following Pearl Harbor and was on active duty in the Pacific for the entire war, achieving the rank of LT. Commander. Craig was reactivated for the Korean conflict. Following active duty, Craig remained in the Naval Reserve for two decades. Following military service, Craig spent 43 years serving the public in emergency management, with 33 years devoted to the Pa. Emergency Management Agency and 10 years as a disaster consultant with the Federal Emergency Management Agency. Craig was predeceased by his wife of 64 years, Betty Jane ( Sopp ) Williamson; his parents; and son,Douglas. He is survived by his children Nan Vernazza of Sacramento,Ca; Christine Anderson of Camp Hill, Pa. Scot Williamson and his wife Bonnie of Cabot,Vt; seven grandchildren and step grandchildren; James Kennedy of Middletown,Pa. Jennifer Kennedy of New Cumberland,Pa.; Christine Kennedy Ebright of Camp Hill, Pa; Hannah Vernazza of Sacramento,Ca; Naomi Margolis of Seattle,Wa; Neyah and his wife Jill Margolis of Boulder, Co; and Molly James Williamson of Burlington,Vt; and six great grandchildren and step great grandchildren; Jack and Isabel Ebright of Camp Hill; Margaret and Jay Kennedy of New Cumberland; and Lily and Audrey Margolis of Boulder,Co. Private graveside services will be held at Rolling Green Memorial Park.
