Catherine G. Ryerson, 82, of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, passed away unexpectedly at her home on October 26, 2026. She was born on August 17, 1944, to the late Fredrick and Miriam (Humphrey) Gardner.

Catherine had a lifelong love of music and was a member of the Hershey Symphony, where she shared her musical talents playing both the saxophone and violin. She was also an avid golfer who enjoyed time on the course. Her passion for history and service led her to volunteer as a docent with the Port Royal Maritime Foundation, where she helped share maritime history with others. She also volunteered with the Port Royal Sound Foundation in Okatie, South Carolina.

Catherine will be lovingly remembered by her husband, John; her children, Marc (Valarie), David, and Elise (Jeb Taylor) Ryerson; her grandchildren, Gina, Bennett, Brooke, Trey, Ethan, Juniper and Remy; and her sister, Jean Horn. She will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew and loved her.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 24th at Aldersgate United Methodist Church located at 1480 Jerusalem Road, Mechanicsburg, PA. Services will begin at 10:00 am followed by a celebration of life with a luncheon at 12:00 noon.
